2023-12-19

The Ministry of Labor hosted the ‘Flag Presentation Ceremony of the WorldSkills Competition 2022’ at the Regent Taipei Hotel. This event brought national competitors of every skill together and encouraged them to strive for the best. Honorable attendees were Vice President Lai Ching Te, Minister of Labor Hsu Ming Chun, and Director General of Workforce Development Agency Tsai Meng Liang.

Vice President Lai encouraged all competitors to aim high for the medals and take this rare opportunity to broaden horizon. This way, the competitors can become the role models of technical and vocational education training in Taiwan. Minister Hsu Ming Chun also said in her remarks that it’s not an easy thing for the world to see Taiwan through the power of skill. She had all confidence in competitors and is waiting to celebrate their success together.

The WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition will be hosted by 15 countries around the world due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In the last WorldSkills Competition in 2019, Taiwan won 5 gold, 5 silver, 5 bronze and 23 Medallion of Excellence and was ranked third in the world in terms of total medals won. We hope for an even better result at this year’s WorldSkills Competition.
