WorldSkills Chinese Taipei held the Skills Cooperation Symposium on July 14th and Skills Workshops between July 9th to July 15th, in parallel with the 53rd National Skills Competition.
Over 31 Delegates from 21 countries participated in the Skills Cooperation Symposium on July 14th, titled ‘Post-Pandemic Skills Competition and Capacity Building’, where speakers from WorldSkills International, African Union, and countries of Australia, France, Poland, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the host country Taiwan shared their knowledge and experience on skills development. Minister of Labor Ming-Chun Hsu and WSI President Chris Humphries delivered the Opening and Welcome Remarks.
All Delegates also visited Taiwan’s National Skills Competition, BenQ Corporation, Nangang Vocational High School, and the National Competitor training base at Yi-Der Motors (BMW) to better understand more about Taiwan’s dedication to skills development, with some leisure and cultural experiences of Taipei City.
Besides, the Skills Cooperation Workshops of 5 skills including Restaurant Service, IT Software for Business, Fashion Technology, Joinery, and Automobile Technology was held from July 10th to 14th. A total of 41 Experts from 22 countries participated in the workshops, joined by WSI Chief Experts and Skills Competition Manager. The Workshops provided an excellent experience for Experts to learn hands-on technical skills and standards required at WorldSkills Competition and were widely praised by all participants.
